How do balance transfers work?
With a 0% balance transfer credit card you can pay off more expensive debt on other credit and store cards (or if you've used a 0% offer before, when that comes to an end if you are still carrying a balance)
A balance transfer card has a 0% introductory period, during which you pay no interest. For example, this Santander offer is for 31 months, with a balance transfer fee of 2.75%. Repaying debt with a 0% offer means you can repay more of the debt with each payment.
